Biography
Mr. McCurdy is currently a founding partner at Advsr, LLC, a strategic advisory firm supplying sell side and buy side M&A advisory services.
Mr. McCurdy also advises and consults companies in regards to corporate development, operational strategies, partnerships, executive management, and other strategic initiatives. See current and recent projects above.
Mr. McCurdy has been a member of 8 boards of directors, both publicly traded and venture-backed private companies, as an independent board member and CEO adviser with a hands-on role in the company’s strategy.
Mr. McCurdy began his career at Electronic Arts (EA), the world’s leading game developer and publisher. Mr. McCurdy joined EA pre IPO when the company had just over 100 employees and his 12 year tenure encompassed the company’s growth to 3,500 employees and over $1.5 billion in annual revenues. During his career, Mr. McCurdy held a number of positions at EA, including VP of Product Development, VP of Technology and VP of Online. Mr. McCurdy founded EA’s Online Division, leading the company’s strategy and technology effort onto the Internet and leading the creation of the first successful online business for the game industry as a whole. As Vice President of Technology, Mr. McCurdy worked closely with the President and played a key role in the company’s M&A efforts, strategic relationships, and platform transition strategies.
Mr. McCurdy has also been CEO and founder of 3 startups. Golden Gates Games (G3), a mobile game publisher in Shanghai, China. Vivaty, a web based 3D virtual world platform, which was acquired by Microsoft. Blaze Entertainment, a mobile game publisher with offices in the US and Europe, which was acquired by Oberon Media.
